Inspired by the bracket models by @Jitti, these brackets allow for a LEGO train track to be mounted onto a ceiling, with enough strength and rigidity to permit a fully operational Lego train to run in a room suspended from the ceiling and without worry of the train falling down.

There are total of three bracket models:

  • Bracket labeled CURVED is to be used when you need to prepare corner turns in your track layout to avoid being hit as your train runs.

  • Bracket labeled STRAIGHT is to be used at all times when running straight track. Less plastic needed to make the print, without the need to be wider, slimming down the look without worry of the train hitting the bracket.

  • Bracket labeled T-STYLE is to be used as a substitute for STRAIGHT track brackets in the event the screw hole location for where you intended a STRAIGHT track bracket to go will not work for your situation. The T-STYLE bracket consists of two screw holes, with each hole towards the edge of the top of the bracket in effort to relocate the mounting holes, but doing it in a way that still doesn't compromise strength and rigidity of the bracket.

ADVISORIES

All LEGO train tracks simply fit into the bracket and it is highly recommended for the best possible strength and for long term use to connect two pieces of track together and place the joint of the two tracks within the mounting bracket. Toggle bolts are recommended to deal with gravity and stress forces induced as the train is running and/or at idle. If you have any questions, feel free to comment and I can help you out. :)

  • Print flat on the bed, organic supports are optional but recommended to ensure best bridging accuracy which is necessary for the wall of the slot of the track that prints towards the top layers of the brackets (if this confuses you, open up the model and take a look).

  • Recommended Print Settings:

    • Infill Pattern: Adaptive Cubic

    • Infill Density: 60%

    • Infill/Perimeters Overlap: 20%

    • External Perimters First: Enabled

    • Organic Supports (manual painted with smart fill, only on the two walls of the track slot towards the top layers)
