Instead of dropping your barbell straight onto metal and producing a loud clang noise, dampen it with TPU! I've made a sleeve to go over the barbell rack so you don't have the metal-metal interactions. It eliminates a tremendous amount of sound.
It does require you to cut away a piece of the sleeve after printing, in order for it to be mounted to the rack.
