Welcome to the Lisabo Gaming Table System

Even the most basic gaming tables cost, more often than not, thousands.

This model is the result of my mission to change that.

With this system, you can have your very own customisable

and modular board gaming table for around 350£/€!

And, if you want to take it the extra mile…

… you can use 2 tables to make an XL version!

Inserts Available
  • Insert Cover - Improve arm space and comfort!
  • Components Tray - Organize all your meeples!
  • Double Counter - Keep track of scores, HP, Mana or any other stats!
  • Cup Holder - Prevent spilling accidents!
  • Phone Holder - Free your hands!
  • Dice Tower - Roll your dice without risking your setup!

The Vision
1. Modular and easy to print with no supports;
2. Easy to assemble and disassemble;
3. Customisable and Ergonomic;
4. Expandable and great value!

The Lisabo Gaming Table System achieves all of the above. The table itself is very easy to find and purchase at a good value, either new or second hand. It's a medium sized table (140x78cm) that looks and works great as 4-6 seat option for most houses and apartments.

By using this system, you get much more play space (free table space with frame assembled is still 124 x 62cm) as you'll optimize space usage for multiple players. And the best thing is, you can VERY easily assemble and disassemble everything in 2 minutes if you like to keep the looks of your room tidier when not gaming:

The system gives you a total of 36 modular slots for inserts and should be able to sit up to 6 players depending on the game (with 6 modular slots per player).

All frame parts connect magnetically and the frame is extremely stable and useful.

Go BIG! Introducing the XL Version!

I had quite a few people mentioning that the table space isn't enough for bigger tabletop games (and they were right). When I first attempted to table a bigger game at four player count I just couldn't. So I went big! I got a second Lisabo table second hand and merged them both together! :)

If you're looking to go big as well, all it takes is to place both table side by side on the long edge. A few extra frame parts are needed (extra 4x 20cm and 19cm Frame Pieces).

The frame pieces placement in this case is 20-19-20-19-20-19-20 cm pieces.

I have now tested this myself and can attest it works wonders, check it out below ;)

Printing, Building and Assembling

Materials required for the build:

Extra materials (on top of above) required for the XL version:

Quantity of each frame part to be printed:

  • Frame Corner Piece x4
  • Frame 20cm Piece x12 (x16 if XL version)
  • Frame 19cm Piece x6 (x10 if XL version)
  • Frame Middle Piece x2 (Print these last, I found that IKEA has a bit of an error margin on their table dimensions so these might need to be slightly adjusted in thickness to ensure a good fit of the frame around the table, easily done in the slicer with cut tool)

Recommended settings:

  • All parts should already be set into the optimal printing position;
  • .6mm nozzle (.4mm okay but will be slower due to size);
  • .2mm layer height;
  • At least 2 perimeters (3 if .4mm nozzle) and at least 1.5mm top and bottom layer;
  • At least 20% infill Grid, Gyroid or Honeycomb;
  • No supports required.
  • If experiencing warping due to large part size, use the mouse ears technique;
  • Good cooling is particularly important on the corner pieces, so if you find your cooling is lacking, you may need to slow the print down during the wider chamfer section;

Gluing the magnets:

  • It is VERY IMPORTANT to glue the magnets to the frame in the right orientation (because of the poles) or you'll end up with repelling parts instead of attracting ones!
  • The way I found easiest to do this was organizing all the pieces in the position they will be placed around the table, then getting all the magnets together in a single pile and paying close attention to the orientation as I glued them piece by piece, starting from a corner and working my way around the table slowly.
  • I would also recommend leaving the middle pieces for last, as this might needs adjusting as mentioned earlier, it will save you magnets!)

Preparing the table top fabric:

  • This frame system has been designed with the usage of 2mm Neoprene Wetsuit Fabric in mind. You may try using other fabrics but I can't guarantee the system will fit perfectly. On the other hand, if you choose to not use any fabric, you may find the fit a bit looser than expected;
  • Cut the fabric to the right size by leaving around 1-2 cm gap at all sides (does not need to be exact nor perfect, as the frame will cover the cuts and any imperfections);
  • Make a diagonal cut going from each of the corners into the table corners, this will make it MUCH easier to fold it in the corner, ensuring the corner frame parts fit nicely on the table.

Assembling the frame in place:

If you look at the image above, green represents 20cm parts, red represents 19cm, purple represents the corners and the arrows represent the middle pieces;

  1. To assemble the frame, start on either short side of the table;
  2. Short side of the table placement should be: Corner - 20cm - 19cm - 20cm - Corner
  3. After, you can assemble the first halves of the long side of the table using the same logic as for the short sides: Corner - 20cm - 19cm - 20cm (Do not place the middle pieces yet)
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other half of the table;
  5. Finally, insert the two middle pieces to join both parts together.

Assembling the Double Counter insert:

  1. After printing all the parts, insert the dials through the counter pole until they are more or less in the middle;
  2. Insert the pole into the appropriate slot and ensure the half circle slot is facing UP on either side of the main part slot;
  3. Push the two fittings into their respective slots (square fitting goes into half circled side of the pole to ensure it does not rotate, only the dials);

A note from the designer

This is by far the biggest project I have ever made and definitely the one I'm the most proud of as of yet. It took me weeks to accomplish this, having to perfect the design in Fusion, reprinting and ensuring everything worked exactly as I envisioned it. I am incredibly passionate about it and I am definitely planning on expanding further it's catalogue.

By purchasing this design, you will not only have access to this model in it's current state but you will also have lifetime access to all future updates of it!

This is also the first ever design I put up for sale and my reason to do so is because I put in a considerable amount of time and money into it and I feel it's fair that I see a bit of return for sharing. With this in mind though, I am also keen on keeping this design accessible to as a wide range of people as possible hence why it has been posted at a minimum value of 5$.

If you feel there is more value to this model or if you would like to offer me a more generous compensation for my time and effort, you may follow this link and buy me a coffee to keep me going!

Thank you so much for the support, it really means the world, truly!

Humbly, DSpecter
