This is the Utility Meter Pulse Optical Counter (Home Assistant Glow), with a few additions:

  • A wall mount with an alignment guide
  • The base is 2mm taller, to allow more space inside for wiring
  • A reset pin.  Accessing the pin hole is quite awkward where my meter is, having a button if I ever need it is much easier.

The included .3mf file has the suggested alignment for the parts.  No supports are needed, but the wall mount and pin need a brim for bed adhesion.  You will also need the snap lid from the original model.

See the original model for all build details.

For the wall mount, you will need:

  • M3nS (x2)
  • M3x6 screw (x2)
  • 3mm countersunk screw of your choice (x2). I used 3x15mm wood screws.

Push the nuts into the slots from the top of the base.  If you're using the reset pin, install it before installing the electronics.  There are flat edges around the wider end of the pin, those go against the front and bottom of the base.

Use the alignment guide to position the wall mount such that the photodiode hole is over the pulse LED (see photo).  You will most likely need to adjust the length of the mount: the .scad file has a parameter “distance_to_wall_mm” which is the distance from the mounting surface to the front surface of the meter (ie not including the part where the electronics box attaches.)

When the wall mount is in place, it is a simple matter of attaching the electronics box using the M3x6 screws.  The photodiode will be aligned with the meter's LED.

I borrowed the countersunk hole design from Parametrised Power Strip Mount with Rounded Corners
