I hate the metal box that sits on top of the hot end. The wiring has to go through it and it makes it a pain to work on the hot end. As far as I can tell its primary purpose is to hold the cabling in place. It is pretty heavy so it may also act as a dampener but I have a hard time coming up with any good reason for keeping it. I think it could also impede airflow from the 3010 fan onto the heat sink. So I decided to remove it and go with a minimalist approach for the cable management. It weighs nothing and leaves the airflow around the hot end as unrestricted as possible.
I printed this in ABS, 50% infill to make it stiff, 0.2mm layers.
