Fulton Woodworking Tools and Accessories (and maybe other manufacturers) make 4 way pressure clamp kits like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073QSF8JR
They include a small number of notch bars, which allows some adjust-ability in how wide a panel can be clamped, but still quickly becomes a limiting factor. By printing extra notch bars, this model allows you to use the same metal hardware with clamping bars of different lengths.
These prints are a crucial part of a clamping mechanism intended to apply very large forces to the wood. They must be printed with thick walls. If these are printed with PLA, do not use them in situations where they will be exposed to high temperatures. Any softening will result in deformation when there is large and sustained load on the part.
I tested, and found that they are stronger when printed “on their side” (the orientation in the model), which is not the orientation my slicer selects by default. In this test, I printed with PLA and wall, floor, and top thicknesses of 1mm. With those settings, it was strong enough to bend a short 30 by 40 mm oak board past the point it was useful for clamping.
When testing to failure, the failing notch bar sheared suddenly. Wear safety glasses!
