I recently had to replace the rotten wood cornices of a window frame. I had only enough hardwood for one and with the current shortage of building materials I would have to pay a lot and wait a lot for more. In the photo the right hand piece is hardwood, the left Prusa PET.
It is painted with a plastic primer (available from car accessory shops) and overpainted with satin gloss.
