Parametric drop-in replacement for GoPro actioncam thumbscrew.
Perfect for making custom-length thumbscrews for GoPro and other action cams.
Finger-friendly handle.
Works great with any M5 (external) hex screws from 25mm length.
Works ok with 20mm M5.
Can be used for any other M5 project.
Need a 100mm, 53mm or 35mm Thumbscrew extension? Covered.
Just measure the length of your M5 hex screw from below the screw head.
Parameters
Screw Length
Input your measurement in the Parameters box in Fusion 360 in screw_length.
Handle Length
Adjust handle_length to change the length of the handle.
Handle Diameter
Adjust handle_min_dia and handle_max_dia to change the size and look of the handle.
Screw Head Offset
You can play with the parameter screw_head_offset to adjust how much the screw is immersed in the handle. → Careful: You need to subtract screw_head_offset from screw_length. So, i.e. if you have a 45mm M5 hex screw and enter a 6mm screw_head_offset you want to change screw_length to 39mm.
Hull Center Diameter
Controls the shape of the distance piece (hull_center_diamenter > 10: concave, < 10 convex )
Thread Length
Need more or less of the thread sticking out of the handle? Change thread_length parameter to your needs.
Printed in PETG, 70% infill on Prusa MK4 w. textured powder coated sheet.
No support and no brim needed! Might need brim for longer versions.
Print with handle part on buildplate.
