This is a modular case made for bobbins, commonly used on old Singers, soviet PMZs, and other household sewing machines.
The design criteria were as follows:
- place for 16 spools;
- little-to-no supports (about one gram wasted);
- minimal excess material;
- no fasteners.
I have had no intention of making the case modular. However, to get rid of overhangs, I was forced to split the model into many parts. I made a 16-spool version and then realized that shorter and longer cases should be possible to assemble with the resulting parts:
