We have several Velux windows in our house. There was a need for another stick to open these windows.
The stick is adjustable in length. I created three settings, but you can vary.
For this model you need to search in your hardware store for two pieces of tubing (metal or plastic) that nicely fit inside each other.
I found one with 23.5 mm outer diameter and 1.5 mm wall thickness. The inner tube has an outside diameter of 20 mm and a wall thickness of 1 mm. When you find different sizes, you can modify the Fusion360 file.
Please be aware I did not test the parameters with all possible sizes. There are limits, and you might have to make other corrections in the design.
You also need a M6 X 30 fastener. Or you can print the included model ;-)
Cut the tubing to the length you want, and drill at the bottom of the inner tube one 6 mm hole approximately 50 mm from the bottom. Drill as many holes you need in the outer tube.
I did draw a line on the inner tube extending from the pinup and down, to make it easier to match the pin and the hole when you change the length.
I printed the parts in PLA. I believe PETG will also work, and is probably a bit more durable.
You have to print the hook and the pin horizontally on the bed (see .3mf file) with supports. Print those 2 parts with a high infill. I used 100% The print orientation and infill is needed for strength.
I also added an alternative hook (my first design) Here you don't need a M6 fastener, but you have to rethread the plastic screw after printing. In practice this model was not strong enough.
Please give me feedback, and when you print it show us some pictures.
