SubZero Snow Broom Axle Pin

So it was all snowy out and I needed to go to the store. I broke out my SubZero Snow Broom and got to work. I got about half done when all of a sudden the broomy part broke off. I managed to get my truck cleared off and went on my way. While I was out I looked for a replacement but shockingly enough when there's snow everywhere everyone is sold out.

I collected the broken parts and found that the axle pin that holds the broom part onto the pole part had snapped off. Here is a replacement. You will need the original screw (or preferably a longer version since the original appears to be too short). You will also need to find original spring which is probably buried in the snow somewhere.

This would be easy to print  vertically but I printed it horizontally so the screw is not pulling perpendicular to the layer lines. I used supports; the supports were very difficult to remove from the hole that the spring goes int.

I printed this in PLA and so far it appears to be holding up well. I will probably regret this after I forget this in my truck over the summer and find it has failed by next winter. ABS/ASA/PETG would probably be a better idea.

I don't have the exact model of the snow broom this fits (walmart purchase circa 2012) but I suspect they use a common part for the different models they make. This one has an outer diameter of 21mm; the inner stem is 8mm.
