The Moccamster Cup-One coffee maker uses its own special-size “No.1” filters that aren't commonly found. The super-common Melitta No.2 filters work fine in the machine, but are a little too large, and need to be folded over a bit to make them fit. If you are like me, that usually means taking a stab in the dark through I-need-my-morning-coffee bleary eyes, with a “that looks about right” guess at getting just the right amount folded over to get the filter to fit. And, if you are like me, it's usually not quite right.
This motivated me to make a simple little folding jig. You place a Melitta No.2 filter in it, close it up, then fold the filter over the kinda-sharp edges. This leaves nice, visible creases that tells you exactly where to fold the filter to replicate the Moccamaster No.1 filter for a perfect fit every time in your Cup-One.
Printing:
This has a print-in-place hinge. It works OK on my MK4, but needs to be broken loose after printing and isn't 100% “smooth”. But it ends up being nice and tight with no slop, which is what I was after.
I used PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, with the MK4 “structural” preset. I upped the perimeters to 4 to ensure that the hinges would be solid.
