There are several names for this, most commonly:
- tetrahedron sphere
- tetrahedral sphere
- spherical tetrahedron
- quarter spherical triangle…
It can be described as:
- a tetrahedron inflated in a sphere
- the projection of a tetrahedron in a sphere
- division of sphere into 4 equal spherical triangles
NOT a reuleaux tetrahedron - this has 3 flat faces and only 1 curved face.
No 3D models of this yet, so I made it. One of the alignments was done by eye, so it's not “mathematically perfect”. I'm looking for one created using formulae. This is useful for creating objects with 4 parts pointing outwards at equal angles in 3D.
Use v2. It's got better alignment and higher resolution. parts 1-4 fit together like in the picture but they're not really useful for printing.
