The support will allow the toothbrush to stay in the upright position and keep a small distance from the bottom part. That will avoid moisture to cumulate under it.
I was having issues for the models that have rubber on the bottom part, that exposed to moisture will generate mold.
The foot is very stable, fits well. On the bottom part of the model you will find conical holes to allow injection of liquid silicone, to avoid the part gliding. I had a rubber spray left from a job so I applied that directly on the bottom surface, works also well.
