The model car shelf / display is designed for the 1:41 models what you can get from Shell. It has some space so you can put a slightly bigger car into it as well.
The hole parameters: clearance, normal fitting, ISO M3
The track has only 0,1mm tolerance in both side. You can use thin, double sided tape under the track for easier assembly.
Consider tolerance when ordering or cutting the plexi!
Plexi size for top opening: 151mm x 73mm
Plexi size for side opening: 153mm x 71mm
The default model size is the 4mm because I have some leftover from my enclosure project. I lowered the “ceiling” in the plexi opening for the 3/2mm variant. You can cut the extra material in your slicer easily if you want to keep the 2mm thickness in the front.
Print settings:
(Shell)
- 10% Rectilinear infill is enough
- 2 perimeter wall (you can tune it up if you want a solid wall, but it will be just waste of filament if you don't want to use it to hold anything heavy)
- Snug support everywhere (It will be easy to remove with PLA and ensure the correct size for the plexi)
(Track)
- Change color at 0,8mm & 1,2mm
- Fill angle 0° to get horizontal layer lines at the top (Advanced Infill setting in Prusa Slicer)
- Galaxy black filament recommended for the track surface
