Deutsch: Hallo zusammen,

Durchmesser.

 English: Hello everyone,

Since I have a Prusa XL Toolchanger and am currently building an encloser for it, side storage on the printer is not an option for me - also because I store the filament protected from light and humidity in boxes above the printer. So I had to find something practical to hold the most common sizes. Between the thin PVA spools, the standard spools, M4P 4 KG spools and the extra-wide 2 kg spools, there are huge differences between the min. and max. width and min. and max. diameter. So I came up with the idea. For each plate you need 4 mounts, a wedge, this 2 filament holders, some Uhu Hart or similar glue and 4 Rutex M4 threaded sleeves and 4 M4 screws of the appropriate length (e.g. if you want to screw them into a housing, which will definitely help stability (depending on the height, spools significantly increase the center of gravity!). The filament holders in packs of 10 (=5 reel holders) are the cheapest. Glue the holder to the left and right, per filament holder, and leave to rest, preferably weighted down, for 2 hours (so that the glue can soak through). Coat the inner block with glue and push it into the short groove side as far as it will go and allow it to harden. This will be the fixed part, the other filament holder can simply be pushed in, the required spool width set, and the wedge pushed in from the outside to the inside in the middle. This pushes the filament holder upwards until it no longer has any play in the groove - it is now wedged towards the outside and can only move inwards, which will be difficult if the spool doesn't suddenly become narrower... ;-)

I printed the whole thing, except for the wedge, with 0.2 mm first layer and 0.25 mm additional layers. I printed the wedges separately with first layer 0.2 mm and all other layers with 0.1 mm (takes longer than 0.2, but allows much finer adjustment and clamping... - worth it!).
