Originally designed to store bottle nipples, but realized it's useful for general organization. Each cubby is a roughly 100mm cube.
I've included four different STL's with different usecases:
- Desktop Cubby (feet): The original one I designed and printed; I added small triangle feet on the bottom for extra stability but the downside to this is you can't fit multiple cubbies together as easily.
- Desktop Cubby (no feet): Same overall size as the top one, just without the added feet. I'm not sure how stable this one will be by itself so I recommend using this one if you're intending to attach multiple together into a single larger cubby system.
- Desktop Cubby Single (feet): A single cubby with feet, useful as a first level if you want to build out your own cubby system using the single cubby as a initial template.
- Desktop Cubby Single (no feet): Single cubby with no feet, useful for building out your cubby system. Should be pretty easy to combine multiples together in something like Tinkercad or using glue.
UPDATE: Added “Desktop Cubby Large”. IDK why anyone would want this as it's very specifically sized for a certain shelf I have, but if you want to blast through 1.6kg of filament and spend 60 hours of your life watching a 3d printer make small boxes, here you go.
Printing is pretty easy and can be done without supports if you print it on it's back. Printed on a Neptune 4 Max and as you can tell it takes up basically the entire bed length wise (this is where the single cubby STL's come in handy as you can print them in a smaller build area and glue together after)
It can also be scaled pretty easily directly in the slicer if you need it smaller, deeper wider, etc.
General print settings that worked for me.
Infill: 5% gyroid (Feels decently solid, but scale this based on the weight you're needing it to hold.)
Print speed: 200mm (Will depend on your printer)
Print Material: Elegoo black PLA Plus
Supports: No, but only if you print it laying down. Will require them if you print standing up (Untested)
Layer height: 0.20mm
Print time: 12 hours 10 minutes.
Print material cost: Like 370g-ish
