Why get this handle?

Because this handle outperforms other handles I tested, feels better and it's not nearly as expensive (SmallRig 3847 and SmallRig 3260)

The added adapter adds space between the handle and the cage to ensure better stability and accessibility to the camera.

Features:

  • Great ergonomics

  • Lightweight

  • Cold shoe

Print Settings:

  • 0.20mm layerheight

  • 4 or more perimeters (to guarantee strength)

  • 25% or higher infill

No need to change orientation or add supports

Advised Materials:

  • ASA

  • PETG

  • PCTG

Using generic PLA is disadvised due to material creep

Handle Hardware

  • 2 x ¼'' 20mm bolts

  • 2 x M6 20mm bolts for metric into the adapter

Adapter Hardware

I used the bolts from the SmallRig 2326 Screw Set.

  • 1 x ¼''-20 12mm knurled head

  • 2 x ¼''-20 socket head

  • 2 x ¼''-20 nuts or (if you use metric) M6 nuts

Side Notes:

  • The edited files originally had some holes and needed to be repaired with PrusaSlicer. Hopefully they are now removed. If not, just repair them in the slicer and it'll work just fine. Or download the .obj file.

  • On the pictures you can see I added MM on the side, this is a personal thing so the files uploaded are blank.

  • I also used an adapter to attach the handle to my rig (SmallRig 4183) Its very much optional. This was done because I only have metric bolts and the imperial bolts I have aren't long enough. The adapter also moves the handle slightly outward and forward so the screen on my FX30 is still usable when folded outward. It also ensures accessibility to the side of the camera.  I added the adapter for anyone who also has the SmallRig 4183 and wants to try it out.

  • Adding the adapter can increase functionality since it adds distance between the cage and handle so won't be in the way of potential USB/HDMI ports etc.

                                                         Enjoy!
