‘Kylin’, mythological horse with single horn and deer feet. Dated between 1910-1930.
Qilin: This is the original Chinese term (麒麟), pronounced "chih-lin". The Qilin is a benevolent, chimera-like creature with features of various animals, often depicted with the body of a deer, the tail of an ox, and a single horn. It's associated with good luck, wisdom, and prosperity.
In Art and Literature: Qilin appear in Chinese art and literature, often signifying the arrival of a wise ruler or a momentous event.
