1U Wall Mount/Bracket for Cisco Gear

After searching Printables and other sites I wasn't finding a single switch (1U) wall mount solution that was quite what I wanted. I wanted something that held the switch snug to the wall and provided sort of anti-tamper factor 🔒 (even if just a minimal amount). This led me to making my own, of course! 🤓

The idea in this model is a mount that holds the rack “ears” captive without the need of rack screws. The small nubs on the inside of the mount holds said, “ears,” captive and requires completely removing the switch from the wall to tamper with it. This also makes installation easier since you can attach the mounts to the switch first, then drive the screws through the mounts and into the wall - mounting the switch in a single step. I recommend mounting one side of the mount to a stud in the wall if possible. If not possible, then use drywall anchors, toggle bolts, or some similar fastener. Turns out that this mount is far stronger, and looks cleaner, than I expected!

This is modeled for Cisco Catalyst 3560 48 port POE switch but it could work for others.

This intended to mount a switch vertically NOT horizontal. But that doesn't mean you couldn't try, I guess. 🤷
