This project aims to create stash system for filaments, where spools are easily accesible. Spool holder is using twist-and lock mechanism, so placing spools on rack takes seconds.
I've printed my model using PLA, with 15% cubic infill. Rod holder is very sturdy, so it is possible to place many spools using only two holders.
In f3d file, you can change following parameters:
- v_rod_diameter - diameter of your rod
- v_spool_length - depth of spool
- v_wall_screw_diameter - diameter of screws used to mount rod holder on wall
You need to print:
- 2 rod holders (choose diameter matching your rod, if there isn't any, modify f3d file)
- 2 wall mounts. If wall mount is not getting into rod holder, use hammer ;)
- spool holders - “left” and “right” part. Again, choose diameter matching your rod. Exported models are used to hold spools of 1kg, so spool depth is set to 80mm.
