After a trip to the bank to deposit some savings from my piggy bank, I received feedback that they need all the coins counted and organized to be accepted. I didn't want to go through the trouble of counting all the coins as they were quite a lot. I did some searching on the internet for models, but none of them were easily adjustable for my needs - coin size and markings for counting.
I didn't want to spent time designing yet another coin counter and I wanted to be compatible for more coin currencies with different sizes. So I spent some time designing a OpenSCAD model, which can be used to generate coin counter for nearly all sorts of circular coins.
How to use the OpenSCAD file?
- Open the provided SCAD file.
- Select one of the predefined presets or provide the required information for the coin counter:
- num - number of coins to be counted.
- marks_every - how often to put marks beside the window for counting coins.
- coin_lbl - label to be put on the coin counter.
- coin_d - diameter of the coin.
- coint_t - thickness of the coin
- paper_thickness - thickness of the wrapping paper to be used.
- wall_thickness - wall thickness of the coin counter container.
- Render the model (F6).
- Export the STL file (F7).
