I have the hardest time getting calipers to the right spot to measure initial, and finished distance when doing esteps/rotation distance. So here's a handy jig to help.
Print standing up with a brim. 2 walls and 0% infill work just fine. No supports needed. Rather simple print done in under 30 minutes. model tested with a .6 nozzle.
Bottom is hollowed out so it should fit over the entrance of the extruder for measurements. Top notch is 70mm from the top of the platform, bottom notch is 20mm from the platform.
When you extrude 50mm, your mark should be spot on the bottom notch.
I would suggest painting the seam on the backside so it doesn't look like the model I printed. It's possible it could make it hard(er) to measure.
