Added a version 2:

Updated with the bottom screw and the front upper screw moved down.  The bottom screw is now easier to put in.  The front screw was in the way of the mag release on the Winchester Wildcat (the new one that takes 10-22 mags) so it is moved down and has a little cut out at the top.

Information:

This is a basic shell for the BX-15 magazine.  It is just a cover.  Add your own logos and have fun with different colors.  I will have some remixes with logos.

Since the BX-15 is a big magazine I tried to make it as thin as possible so the magazine isn't that much bigger.  But it does make it a bit square.  It should not affect magazine function but test it before using it in an SD situation.

Print in PLA PLUS or better.  Do not use regular PLA or it will break.  There is some tension on this so that it doesn't slide around on the magazine.

After printing be careful removing supports near the lower sides by the pegs.  It is weakest in those areas and it could break with too much force.  See pictures.

Make sure the two pegs inside the shell halves are clear of any residue/supports etc..  The left hand shell peg has a hole in the middle.  Make sure that is clear. See picture

To assemble you will need three M3-30 screws with round heads and three M3 nuts.  You will also need one longer M3 bolt (35 or 40 will work) to pull the nuts into their slots.  The nuts go in the LEFT shell.  Start with the bottom screw.  Use the longer bolt and tighten the nut so it pulls down into the plastic below the surface.  Don't over tighten.  Then remove the longer bolt and screw in the M3-30. Again don't over tighten.  The ring around the nut in the plastic may break, but it won't affect anything.

There are some little “mouse ears” on the sides by the top screw holes.  These are thin and may not print depending on your layer height and slicer.  They just help with the first layer if the sides don't stick to the build plate well.  You can break these off after printing.

See my BX-15 remixes for logos or add your own.
