General Information

This model is a mount system designed to work with the Klemco E3D V6 hotend mount and the Orbiter v2.0 extruder.

Needed Parts:

This model needs the mount specified here: https://www.klemco.net/e3d-compatible-multi-mount-creality/

This mount is designed around the stock dual 5015 cooling fan mounts/ducts designed by KLEMCO. The fan mount/ducts are included in the model files, but the original files can be found here:
https://www.klemco.net/printable-accessories/

The website contains many different mounts and accessories for integration using the KLEMCO mount's default screw holes.

Motivations

There is currently no mount available to attach the Orbiter v2.0 to the KLEMCO E3D V6 hotend mount for the Creality Ender with concurrent use of the dual 5015 fan mounts (Product being referenced: https://www.klemco.net/e3d-compatible-multi-mount-creality/ ).

I have designed an adapter to attach the Klemco v6 mount to the Orbiter v2.0 with the native mount holes and hardware provided by the Klemco v6 kit, while allowing the dual 5015 fan mounts to be used. I have also added a 40mm hot-end fan mount and a mount for the Creality BLTouch ABL probe (CR-Touch).

Remixing and Modifications

I always try to include all SolidWorks files used to design the part to preserve the open-source nature of 3d printing. All model dimensions are fully defined and parametrically constrained (some geometric features can be overlooked; please be wary).

Relevant Model Dimensions:

The current design is made to use heat-set inserts.

If you wish to change the mounting system to use self-tapping screws or screw directly into the plastic, feel free to change the associated parameter in the equations section of the relevant CAD file.

If you do not have SolidWorks, I highly recommend OnShape. It is a great alternative with a more modern, GitHub-like version control system.

40% isotropic (gyroid used)

This is a functional part, therefore high-strength settings have been used (5 top layers, 5 bottom layers, 4 walls, 40% infill (isotropic).

These are the same settings used by the Voron community when printing structural parts for their 3D printers.

Recommended Print Materials:

You must use a high-heat deflection material such as ABS, ASA, PETG, PA6, PA12, PC, PEEK, etc., due to the structural nature of this print.

ABS-GF, ABS, ASA, and ASA-GF have all been tested and work.

Post-Print Processing:

Assembly Materials:
  • 2x M2x4mm bolts (for ABL attachment to mount)

  • 2x M2x6mm heat set inserts (for ABL mount)

  • 4x M3x4mm bolts (for hot end cooling fan)

  • 4x M3x4mm heat set inserts (for hot end cooling fan)

  • 2x M2x6mm heat set inserts (for hot end cooling fan mount to orbiter mount)

  • 2x M2x16mm bolts (for hot-end cooling fan mount to orbiter mount)
