I wonder if the rewind function is really necessary. If I figure out my post doesn't work over time I will delete it.

I wonder if we really need this high sophisticated spool uproller parts that are put on the four rods, providing a little force due to slipping clutch and spring load. When filament is returned from extruder, this mechanism keeps the filament a bit straight, instead of producing a slope. I understand this.
But this comes with adapters for different spools and manufacturers, which you have in a big pile over a while.
As I have some more other brand name 3D printers I (usually) do not use Bambu filament, therefore, I thought the org. Bambu re-spoolers are not necessary, in case I do not use org. Bambu spools with RFID coding.
I designed one spool adapter fitting the 18mm diameter Bambu rod. This adapter is capable to receive 45mm dia hole and 75mm wide spools.
In order to keep the adapter securely on the rod, not slipping out there are three leaf springs installed which (I hope) keep the adapter in place. The leaf springs are installed after the print of the main adapter. On the top of the adapter there are recesses for dia 36mm plates with clear and large slot identification, those are glued in.
Only thing is what happens as I don‘t have rewind-function, those 50-69mm might make a slope which hopefully will not lead to a tangled situation?
Spool body in PLA, springs in PETG. Printed on my Bambu Lab A1 (body) and MK3 with MMU2 (plaques) and MK4 (springs).
I will test this configuration right now, until I run into major issues. I even expect, that the RFID function can work, but I cannot confirm yet.
