Not a new idea, but this one is customizable using OpenSCAD. You can choose gimbal pivots, size, number of rings etc.
Customizing:
- Download, install and run OpenSCAD, it's completely free (open source; Win/Linux/Mac),
- load the scad file,
- customize in the customizer panel on the right,
- press F6 to render and F7 to export STL.
- I wish Printables had an OpenSCAD customizer like some other sites…
Printing: Standard settings. I prefer random seams though.
