A simple soft holder for a set of hex bits. Print with TPU or other flexible filament.
Some multi-tool I bought came with an injection-molded rubber version of this for holding all the bits that came with it. I found it very useful for taking along the extra bits while the main P2 bit always stayed in my cordless driver. Now that I have numerous hex bits in different types, like a whole set of Torx, a whole set of security Torx, etc., it is great to be able to grab and bring a set I might need all together. Finally, this is a way you can make nice inserts for a storage solution - these little multi-socks can be slipped into a simple slot in a gridfinity bin or the like.
I printed these with Matterhackers MH Build TPU, which has a 95A durometer rating. I think it would be a little better with softer filament than this. I would note, though, that this version gets a lot easier to use after a couple of insertions.
I have provided the f3d file so you can adjust the parameters if you like. It also lets you make them any length, and even 2-dimensional, though with the current setup I find it too hard to use if there is more than one row of bits.
I strongly recommend the setting “Avoid Crossing Perimeters” in PrusaSlicer for this (Print Settings > Layers and Perimeters > Quality > Avoid Crossing Perimeters), as it means that you don't have to fiddle with retraction settings and such to reduce stringing across the holes, which I find is always a problem with TPU. All the provided gcode files have this set.
