Some years ago (7?) I bought these panels of snap apart WS2812 LEDs that are mounted on little round PCBs. Each sheet is 12x10 but I can only find the 10x10 now. I never did anything with them. Yesterday I found them again and decided to make a marquee consisting of 48x10 LEDs. I soldered all of the 5v and Gnd and then daisy chained the data lines. I then designed and 3D printed a set of interlocking frame pieces, each end and middle piece. The models printed almost snap together perfect, only requiring very minor shaving to fit together. The resulting layout is very clean and good looking. I may re-make this with OpenSCAD so it can be parametric.
My LED panels aren't connected yet but they fit perfectly. The right-end piece has an opening for 5V, Data, and Ground (not pictured but the model is correct).
