Back Story

I am about to print a bunch of items that use the typical 4 Prusa colors (Black, Orange, White, and Grey).
Normally I use primarily Prusament filaments, but due to the number of items and the reduction in requirement for quality, I decided to save a ton $$ and try Elegoo's Rapid PETG (can get from $12 to $14 per 1KG shipped, depending on lightning deals and quantity.  One of the things I wanted to quickly test was the various options for adding Text in the PrusaSlicer. So besides wanted a quick test print that would test the 4 mentioned materials, the new (to me) filament, and the multi-material printing of text in PrusaSlicer; I wanted it to be small, fast, and simple.

I decided to go with 3 different options:
1) text that was sunken 1mm into a cylinder on top (last layers)
2) text that was sunken 1mm into a cylinder on bottom (first layers)
3) text that was raised 1mm on top of a cylinder

When printing, I noticed that it pretty much "fuses" things together beautifully when you put the sunken text on the bottom in first layers.  I mean you literally can't see any gaps at all.  The other sunken option looked good but being it was the top layers, you can see some slight gaps (though the contrast still works).  My second favorite was the raised text, it looks really crisp and clean, and the added benefit here is the 3 dimensional look of it.  Funny thing is, the photo's show these in almost the opposite order.  My favorite was the sunken text bottom, but it looked the worse in the photo, and the sunken text top was my least favorite in hand, but looked the best in the photos.  3D printing and photo's just don't mix in many cases.  Any way, give these a try and see which one you prefer.

Happy Printing!
