I wanted a way to direct exhaust from my printer enclosure through the insect screen of my window without cutting it. This uses magnets to couple the parts of the exhaust adapter together so the insect screen doesn't need to be cut.
You'll want to further adapt this to your particular window size to minimize fumes blowing back into your room. This model is simply a way to attach your vent to a screen and to have the active stream of air directed outwards.
- Fits 75mm Outer Diameter Exhaust Pipe (came with my “Yoopai” printer enclosure)
- Uses twelve 6mm Diameter x 3mm Thickness Magnets
- Allows disconnecting of the exhaust pipe without disturbing the plates sandwiching the screen.
Instructions:
- Print TWO of the VentPlates.
- Glue magnets into the holes in the vent plates such that the two plates will sandwich the insect screen - with the opposing magnets directly touching each other for maximum squeeze against the screen (see 3D diagram photos).
- Print the VentBody and glue the magnets such that they attract to one of the VentPlates.
- The ~4mm thickness of plastic between the VentPlate and VentBody magnets allows the VentBody to be easily disconnected from the VentPlate without disturbing the VentPlate-to-VentPlate attachment.
Printed in PLA, no supports, 0.3mm layer height, two outer walls, and sized so that all three pieces fit on one standard Prusa build plate of 250 x 210 x 210 mm.
