I designed a copy of the bicycle-side part of the Weber coupling system. It is meant for various crazy DIY ideas. For instance, once I'm finished with it, I will upload a modified version of this design that can be used to lock the wheels of one's trailer to the drawbar via a simple loop cable.
However, I thought uploading the design of the pure connector first, might be a good idea as well. You guys can certainly come up with more ideas on how to use it. However, that being said, please do not use it to pull any heavy loads. I'm unsure what Weber is doing to make their original parts (also made from plastic) withstand over 100kg of pulling force. But 3D-printed parts surely won't survive that.
I added a Fusion360 file so you can start working on my design right away.
Regarding slicing and printing: Funnily the connector has a long flat surface along one of its sides. So you can print it lying down flat as well as standing upright. In both directions, you will need a little bit of support material. But nothing too crazy and nothing difficult to remove. Just consider the direction of the layer lines and where you need the most strength.
Concerning tolerances, the tight version works great for me. In particular after a few dozen insertions. However, feel free to use the loose version if you need to.
