This pattern (printed in 2 pieces) is used to make a silicone mold, which then is used to cast a resin ashtray.
The 2 pieces have alignment pins. Silicone is then poured in the pattern, and left to dry. After it has dried, the hole in the back of the pattern allows you to push the negative and the mold out. The negative can then be removed from the mold and the mold is ready to be used!
I no longer have the ashtray I made with this, but I do have the mold I made. It did work well and the ashtray was a success!
