Ultimate Drawer System XL Modular Drawers

I really like the Ultimate Drawer System by MarcElbichon and especially the modular remix with the seperate modular compartments. I printed these drawers and shelves a lot.

Recently I had some use for bigger drawers and found the XL remix. However I do not like the idea of scaling the original drawers. The result of scaling is a suboptimal drawer with (in my opinion) a too large handle and too large label holders.

I decided to build new drawers from scratch inspired by the original modular drawers. My version is basically identical to the original except for the following:

• The tab for the drawer handle is exactly the same size as the original drawers.
• I made a small change to the back corners (see photo) so the drawer does not stick out in front of the shelf.
• The label inserts are identical in size to the original drawers so you can use the same paper or 3D printed labels.
• I changed the radius of the corners so it exactly matches the modular compartments. The XL drawer can fit up to 18x18 size modular compartments or any combination of smaller compartments if desired.

I made a 1U, 2U, 3U and 4U version of the drawer. With the included F3D or STEP files you can easily modify the drawers as needed.

Bill of Materials:

• Only filament for the drawers.

I printed this in the cheapest PLA+ I could find (eSUN and Sunlu) with a 0.5mm nozzle at 0.25 layer height. Normal PLA and other filaments and other layers heights will probably work fine also.
