Tired of watching the tug of war between the extruder and the spool? This spacer allows for smooth rotation of the spool on the spool holder. I don't know if it actually affects print quality, but it's at least a bit quieter.
Only works for spool holders with ~30mm outer diameter AND spools with 58mm or slightly larger inner diameter. Any other values, then it serves no purpose at all.
Prints without supports and you can lock it with an M4 bolt if necessary.
Might take some force to loosen up the hinge, I jammed a flat-head screwdriver into the open slot and pried it open fairly easily.
