I shaved some features off of the carriage I didn't want, and added 2 holes for some m2 self tapping screws. the little piece on the back side on the top where it connects to the rail does bump into the A/B motor mount top plate, but either shaving off the first “screw lump?” fixes the problem, and maintains rigidity in the motor mounts.
