The American Bag Company makes a very popular and very useful Hot/Cold Thermal bag. They claim it “holds up to 20 lbs” but in my experience, but I always end up breaking them. It's the big downside of these bags.
This model reenforces the existing handle and makes the bag a LOT stronger. It even repairs bags where the handle is already broken, like mine was! Don't buy a new one, just repair the old one!
Tips
I printed using PLA and used superglue to attach to the existing handle. Other plastics may not work as well (For example, PETG sometimes doesn't like superglue). If you do print using ABS or PETG, let me know how it turned out.
Before gluing, use an alcohol wipe on the existing handle to clean off all residual oils. If you want it to stick, it has to be clean!
The reenforcing handle is tight to the existing handle to maximize contact area for glue. Use a bunch of mini clamps to make sure everything glues up nice and tight. I used six clamps!
Test fit before gluing.
The new handles will make the opening a little stiffer, so it won't open quite as wide as the old handle. That's the tradeoff for strength.
