Two sizes! but print it any size you want, it'll still work.
Version 2. The original, due to it's size, is good for kids and enjoying the concept. The bigger version 2 is for adult or longer arms and ease of use.
In the southern hemisphere we have a trick for finding South using constellations. This tool lets you teach that trick, use it yourself faster or figure it out on your own faster, at the same time removing the arbitrary measurements like “four times the length of the cross then down”
Observe the Pointer Stars and the Southern Cross through the view holes and where the third paddle dangles is South. The paddles even clip together when not in use! Pretty cool ay.
Printed very well with PLA at .2 layer height and standard settings on a Bambu X1. Print each of the 4 parts separately and clip them together. All text and the pin should be facing you during assembly and when using it.
The larger version with text (3mf) is in the above specs and has 3 colour changes.
Get out camping somewhere and do some stargazing!
P.s Only works in the Southern hemisphere… when you can see the stars lol.
Hint: The Southern Cross and Pointer Stars circle a point in the sky not far above the horizon therefore they can look to be at a different rotation to the pictures I've included. Enjoy :)
