Print body and lid in a material suited for your end goal PLA should work just fine for most uses. Don't forget the box will likely fail at any holes you drill into it unless you make provisions to seal those areas against the elements. Any plan to fully submerge the box should account for pressure buildup and make provisions to stiffen the insert.
If you're after increased dust or water ingress protection, check out the gasket. I think a think a rubber band may work as a fair standin in the event you don't have TPU.
Printed on a MK3.9 with generic PLA and TPU.
- Voron print settings (increased walls, top and bottom)
- Standard filament profiles from PrusaSlicer (#nothingfancy)
Post processing:
- Holes in the body drilled out slightly smaller than 3 mm to allow 3 mm SHCS to self thread.
- Lid drilled slightly above 3 mm to allow for screws to pass through.
- Gasket has slightly raised profile to allow for squish given my print settings.
