As much as a love the aesthetic of permanent marker on index cards, I'm going to try printing some nice labels for my storage bins. I'm going to experiment with making them thicker. 1.6 mm doesn't seem to cut it. Also, the yellow I tested doesn't look as good with the white text, so stick with red or another color for contrast.
