NOTE: Must be printed in PETG if using Acetone. ABS, ASA, and PLA will all melt if using this for Acetone. PETG will soften but only slightly and seems to hold up pretty well.
Template included for cutting out cardboard.
This is a little mini swamp cooler design for ASA and ABS smoothing. This way you don't have to use a bunch of paper towels and pour it in the bottom of the bucket. The cardboard soaks up the acetone from the resivore on the bottom. The cardboard provides a high amount of surface area in a small space, and the fan is used to move the air through all that surface area.
The swamp cooler you see in the images have been used for about 10+ smoothings, and it is still working perfectly fine.
Requires a 40mm fan of your choice.
NOTE: You can use Amazon cardboard boxes for this. I included a template so all you have to do is print the template and trace the rectangle onto the box using it to cut out several pieces, then just cut them out with scissors. I think it takes somewhere around 13, but don't quote me on that.
NOTE: Cardboard orientation is important for this. You must make sure that air can pass through the long side of the cardboard. (See images for reference).
NOTE: The example in the images was printed with Kingroon Blue PETG (HC094). I am posting the exact filament I used since Acetone eats through a lot of stuff. You can be sure the filament above works.
NOTE: The version number is based on revisions I have made in OnShape for different things, and does not necessarily reflect that there are other previous public releases.
