This design is for the SBL 1.0 and allows storage in a broken-down form. Just like the Caliburn and SBL 2.0 PT covers, it attaches to protect the PT from dust and debris. There are 4 versions of the bolt cover. The ‘no nipple’ is for the bolts that don't seat fully forward into the barrel, and the ‘nipple' is for those that do. The nipple keeps the bolt ‘in battery’ when attached. v2 has a little more play for the nipple, and v2.5 is right up to the bolt. The OEM PT cover is meant for the OEM spring, but I run a longer spring, so I added the file I use. All PT covers need 2-3mm paracord, and I like to loop it around the back of my grip.
My preferred setup is the nipple+hole and ext PT cover for my build.
