There is a neighborhood feral cat factory to the north of our house and cat heaven on the south side. Just like a zombie migration route, our house lies in the direct path of where cats want to travel. The cats are causing substantial issues in our yard/birds/veggie garden, so I designed these fence top devices to deter them from traveling on our wooden fences and getting into the yard.

Notes

  1. The Kat Wobbler Mega part is designed for fences that have a 2x4 horizontal nailing stringer to deter them from walking on the upper 2x4s or jumping up on the fence from the ground
  2. The Kat Wobbler Keepers (print 2) are spaced at least 10 ¾" apart (outer faces) and secured with gold digger screws
  3. The Kat Stop deters those wily Kats from jumping over/around the fence top
  4. The Kat Guard Arms are secured to a fence/gate top to deter Kats from jumping onto and over a wooden fence. I place them a 2' to 4' apart (angled outwards) and use plastic garden fencing/barrier that is soft enough they can't leverage themselves over. There are 2 sizes, 18mm and 22mm, for different widths of fence planks.
  5. Additional defenses we use are tarps covering the 2x4s, wire garden borders, deer netting

Printing notes

  1. For the Kat Wobbler I printed with a .4 nozzle with .2 speed layers on an OPXL5H
  2. PETG holds up well to UV and weather
  3. I suggest brims, 2 perimeters, gyroid 15% infill
  4. For the Kat Stop I printed with a .6 nozzle with .32 speed layers on an OPXL5H
