Our makerspace has three sewing machines available at all times for our users, and we needed a way to organize and display the spools of threads for the machine.
I originally designed a single piece stand with a handle protruding from the center, but it turned out to be unbalanced when filled with spools and the pins for the spools were far too flimsy.
This was my third version, and along the way, it made sense for me to print the pins separately. Doing this enabled me to not only print (nearly) without supports, but also print the pins laying down for added strength. To mount or change a pin you just insert it in the keyhole and turn it to secure it.

Low infill, 10-15% is more than enough
Supports only needed for the handle cutout in the stand, but it should print okay without.
