Because it does not come with a drilling template.

These MoCA devices are a very affordable way to bridge a network over existing coax cable. The brand I settled on is the Translite Global TL-MC84.
While these units do have holes on the underside to mount these to a wall, and I did have a desire to get them off the floor, there is no information on screw spacing or any kind of details to actually do so.
The design stinks, actually. If you get the spacing right and select the perfect screws, you still have to deal with the unit not sitting flush against the wall thanks to the rubber feet. Plus having only two screws (instead of 3 or 4) means it will rock back and forth.
Features of my adapter:
- Snug fit to keep the posts from being too loose
- Pressure bar presses against the bottom to keep tilting to a minimum
- Thick enough to clear the rubber feet
- No supports needed, orientated for both easy printing and strength
- Can be mounted with two screws (#6 flat-head by default)
- Can be mounted with a Command strip (medium size by default)
- Entirely parametric
Granted my sample size is “two”, so if it doesn't feel right on your device, feel free to edit the source.
