I designed this to make the task of getting nuts ready to embed into my 3D prints easier and quicker. I was tired of going to my big tub of fasteners to get a small number of nuts while I was printing.
Generally I use M2.5, M3, M4, or M5 nuts when embedding during a print pause.
This handy organizer is small enough to live in easy reach of my printer. Each compartment is easy to open and returns a very satisfying click when closed!
To print this without an MMU, which I did, you’ll need some slicer magic. I learned this from a smart member on Prusa Forum and a great contributor here on Printables, fuchsr@fuchsr . If you do print this without an MMU and you’ve learned something new, I urge you to buy him a coffee by joining his club for a month or two. Here is the model which taught me the recipe to print without an MMU. https://www.printables.com/model/51471-dual-color-lcd-cover-for-mk3s-no-mmu-required
The magic is a matter of telling the slicer that you have a second extruder.
The model was designed for layer thickness 0.2mm. The text is only 0.4mm thick, so you will have 3 color changes.
Supports on the latch surfaces on the bottom and top parts. These are painted on in the 3mf files.
To assemble, you need one steel rod 2.5mm diameter x 162mm long.
I hope you like ❤ this model!
Happy Printing!!
