I quite like the standard 115pc drill indexes that combine letter, fractional, and gauge drills (A-Z, 1/16-½, and 1-60). However, the drawback is that there is no convenient place to store duplicates, and I've always thought that the three types were somewhat arbitrary.  I often only care about the decimal size. One common solution is to use Huot indexes, but their capacity is more than I need in my home shop (and thus take up more space than I need). Also, they can only categorize between letter, fractional, and gauge (and metric!).

I designed this in such a way that letter, fractional, and gauge drills are interlaced based on the decimal size of standard jobber length drill bits. It is sized for a 25"x18.5" Kennedy so some mild scaling may be necessary for other cabinets. The quantity changes for each size so that by the time you get to the largest size (½"), you can only hold about 5. Identical size partitions were combined (e.g. E and ¼").

I didn't bother gluing them together after printing because they were sized with little clearance. I printed, laminated, cut, and glued the labels onto each partition.

I included my original print stl files which were done on an UMS5. This is probably a larger print bed than average so I've included the stp file so folks can cut the model up to suit their printer size.
