If you run out of 3mm nuts and bolts, or you're just noodling around, or if you want a basis to attach other things to your extrusions. You could knock out similar designs in half an hour, but now you don't have to. Should print without support, may need slight adjustment in feed rate or a small hammer. You could also trivially scale up to larger extrusions.
