I use my spool roller mostly for respooling 5kg rolls. With the original design that was very, very noisy. So I designed these rolls with TPU sleeves to make it more quiet.
Print rollers in PETG, sleeves in TPU or other soft material. Recommend printing sleeves “By Object” instead of “By layer”, to reduce stringing. Also recommend using randomized Scarf seams to avoid a single “long” seam making noise on each rotation.
When printed correctly, the spool should fit nicely within the “lips” on the sleeves, preventing rubbing against the spool roller frame, as well as reducing noise in general.
