A simple separation kit for my FT-891. Since I don't have a permanent QTH, I use the radio mostly in the field, and I needed something to avoid pulling all my gear out of my backpack :D
In addition to the printed parts you need:
- 2 Keystone RJ45 sockets
- 2 Keystone RJ12 sockets
- Threaded inserts M2.5 and appropriate screws
- 2 additional short patchcords (RJ45 and RJ12)
- 14-wire cable and matching M12 cable glands
- 1/4" nut (for mounting on mini stand) - there is a place for it inside the part which holds the radio panel.
- M5 screw for mounting panel
Assembly is trivial:
- install threaded inserts
- pull the cable through the cable glands and holes in the enclosures
- connect the Keystone sockets accordingly
- close the housings
Before connecting the radio, test the connections using, for example, an Ethernet cable tester!
I printed my copy from PLA, which I then sanded and painted.
